Planted in the sandy loam soils on Wahluke Slope in Columbia Valley Washington, this Tempranillo lived up to the meaning of its name “the early one” as our first pick of the season. Remarkably textured with firm tannins and spice, the StoneTree Vineyard delivers classic Tempranillo that we’ve shaped with a modest amount of new American Oak, emulating some of our favorite Tempranillos from the old world. Barreled 3 months in 16.5% new American Oak and 16.5% new French Oak, followed by 15 months in 16.5% new American Oak, 16.5% once filled French Oak, the remainder neutral French oak.
