This single vineyard Chardonnay from the prized Gran Moraine Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA expresses a clear sense of place characteristic of the ancient ocean sedimentary soils in the western edge of the AVA near the coast range. Meticulously farmed with yields matched to the vintage requirements, this site produces Chardonnays that are distinctly rich and expressive, notably from the ideally matched clone 76 to the sites elevation, aspect and soil. This wine maintains minerality and vibrancy by avoiding secondary malolactic fermentation. The selection for this blend is just three select barrels, one new French oak barrel (made from the Tronçais forest, matched to the characteristics of the vineyard) and two neutral French oak barrels, giving weight and balance to the blend. 75 cases produced. 13.1% alcohol. 2/3rds neutral French Oak, 1/3rd new French Oak (Billion Tronçais forest).
