cur·mudg·eon /kər’məjən/ : A passionate lover of great wines, especially from Oregon, an impudent fixture in Willamette Valley Tasting rooms and on the Wine Berserkers message board, and a very good friend to many. The late Bob Wood prided himself on being the first to “discover” Seven of Hearts. In turn, we offer this wine in memory of his support and friendship. This was designed to be a wine Bob would like, and one that would age so we may continue to raise a toast to him year after year. No new oak touched this wine; it has a modest alcohol level (13.3%), and is made from fruit that was 100% whole cluster fermented. The Curmudgeon Cuvée delivers floral/rosy, spicy/brambly fruit and earth on the nose, with flavors of wild strawberries, rose petals, mushrooms, cedar, and a slightly cinnamon cigar box spiciness. Silky smooth, medium- body, good acid, and lengthy finish.
