This is a new site for Seven of Hearts, starting with the 2011 vintage, but a very old vineyard. This wine incorporates 40-year old Pommard from the Bishop block of the Durant vineyard, as well as some equally stunning 114 and 115 clones from the Lark block. Typical of most of the Dundee Hills, these sites are on Jory volcanic soil, producing the classic elegant red fruit the area is known for. This blend draws heavily from 100% whole cluster fermented Pommard, comprising 55% of the blend. This wine demonstrates better than any we’ve ever done, that there is no correlation between the color of a Pinot Noir and it’s intensity and flavor.
