2010 may be the finest year yet for Luminous Hills. While our yields were down dramatically (resulting in this bottling and the Lux, but no Astra in 2010), the quality and precise expression from the different blocks was remarkable. In fact, with the absence of the Astra, more components of Luminous Hills were available to this blend than has been the case in the past. As a result, the 2010 includes all four Pinot noir clones planted on both soil types (Volcanic Jory and Willakenzie Sedimentary) at Luminous Hills: Pommard, 115, 667, and 777. It's the broadest and clearest statement yet of the big picture story that Luminous Hills has to say.
