Our primary bottling from Luminous Hills, the “Silver” label, as always is a selection of barrels from across Luminous Hills vineyard: both volcanic and sedimentary soils, varying elevations, the many aspects from southwest to southeast, and the varied clones – the “big picture” of the vineyard built for balance and aging, but also for broader accessibility. The difference this year is our smallest production ever, just five barrels (actually, half each of ten different barrels to get the broadest expression of the vineyard), even smaller than the inaugural vintage in 2008 (which was only seven barrels). The result from the careful selection of barrels and unique qualities of the vintage is a wine with impeccable balance and range, fruit and spice, power and depth, elegance and grace. 30% New French Oak. 14.1% Alcohol. 26% Whole Cluster Fermented.
